Driving tubes below a ceiling in Quebec
A mill in the Center of Quebec area needs to prepare a foundation for foundry operations that will take place within an existing building. Foundry operations require a very strong foundation. In this case, 540 tubes with capped end will ensure the required floor strength. The tubes need to be located within two inches of their desired engineered position. They are composed of three sections (two of 17 ft. and one of 21 ft.). Each section is welded on top of the previously installed tube. In total, 1620 tubes will be manipulated and piled by two Gilbert Grizzly Multigrip drivers. The Gilbert Grizzly MultiGrip allows the manipulation of 21ft. long tube below a 25ft. ceiling, due to its superior manoeuvrability.
