Located at Périgny in Normandy, SARL Élagage Ouest is a specialist woodcutting, pruning and grinding fuelwood. Gentlemen Michel & Thomas Tourou have begun their activities in 2014.
Recently, the society have acquired a 3018L felling head. Installed on a Komatsu SK260-SR excavator by Dyna Forest group, the intuitive control system was put to work in a few hours on a construction site at Saint-George de Rouelley in Manche Department, Normandy.
The work consisted in thinning embankments of chestnut in agricultural environment. Different stems from 10 to 45 centimeters got cut in a single stroke due to Gilbert’s 3018 felling head cutting capacity. Furthermore, a big challenge of this pruning operation consisted into placing the saw blade at various heights and angles in a way to reach the many chestnut branches. The powerful 350 degree wrist, offered as standard, allows an optimum handling for this kind of work.
